3. We file with the state
We submit the change to the Secretary of State. Wyoming approves in 24-48h. Delaware in 5-7 days. New Mexico instant.
4. Cancel your old subscription
Once the state confirms LLCora as your new Registered Agent, your old provider's renewal becomes optional. We email you a cancellation template you can forward to them.

Migration FAQ
Will my LLC still have the same name and EIN?▾
Yes. Migrating Registered Agents does NOT change anything about your LLC's identity. Your LLC name, formation date, EIN, bank accounts, contracts and Stripe account all stay exactly the same. Only the contact address for legal mail changes.
Can I keep my Mercury / Wise / Stripe accounts?▾
Yes. None of your business bank or payment accounts are affected. Mercury and Stripe identify your business by EIN, not by Registered Agent. The migration is invisible to them.
What if I'm in the middle of the year and already paid for renewal?▾
You can still switch — your previous provider doesn't refund the unused months, but you stop paying them next renewal cycle. Most customers break even within 6-12 months. Long-term, you save $300-$1,400 over 5 years.
Does the IRS need to be notified?▾
No. The IRS only cares about your EIN and the LLC's principal mailing address (which can stay the same or change separately). Registered Agent changes are filed at the state level, not federal.
